Beat the summer heat with a glass of Pink!
The wine tasted this episode and where you can buy –
Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference Côtes de Provence Rosé £8 – currently £7
Cotes de Provence Rose – Great with food and to glug on its own!
In this week’s wine video I am tasting one of my favourite rosés.
Nowadays there is a sea of pink on the shelves — Malbec Rosé from Chile, Shiraz Rose from Australia, Zinfandel Blush from the States, even Nero d’Avola from Italy, but if I could only choose one wine for Summer it has to be Côtes de Provence Rosé.
I’ve got one here from the Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference range, which came top in my Provencal Rosé Supermarket Sniff Off. Just opening this curvy bottle and pouring out the light pink nectar puts me in a good mood and brings back memories of sundrenched holidays in the South of France.
What I love about it, is it’s dry. Never confuse it with Rosé d’Anjou that’s sugary sweet -It’s light and fresh, but never acidic, with a hint of fragrant rhubarb. It’s beautifully balanced so you can drink it on its own, I find it makes sunbathing a lot more interesting! It’s great with salads, classically salad nicoise or fish soup, but it’s also the perfect match for pink seafood, or a fish BBQ…but it’s also pretty good with a simple salad and a chunk of pork pie.
Cheers, enjoy your Côtes de Provence Rosé this summer.
